Hampden Park : Though Hampden Park is best-known as the home of the Scottish Football, the ground is actually owned by Queen`s Park FC, an amateur club that is currently playing in the Third Division of the Bells Scottish Football League. Hampden Park is situated a few miles to the south of Glasgow city centre, with easy access to the city, the motorway network and to Glasgow Airport.
Though more than 149,547 spectators crammed into Hampden Park to watch Scotland take on England in 1937, the current capacity is just over 50,000. Hampden Park has recently completed a £70m refurbishment and is now rated as a five-star venue by UEFA, the governing body of European Football.
Queen`s Park and the Scottish Football Association will return to Hampden Park after the Games.
Hampden Park is well-served by public transport, with two train stations within five minutes walk of the ground. Trains depart from Glasgow Central to the ground every 10 minutes.
