The Rocks is the historic site of Sydney's first European settlement where you will find many beautifully restored buildings from Sydney's early days as a colonial town. Here you can explore the maze of original, cobblestone lanes that lead to a range of shops, cafes and restaurants. The shopping ranges from Australian design in fashion art, craft and jewellery to unique collectables and souvenirs.
The Rocks has more than its share of restaurants or it is just as easy to find a casual cafe, restaurant or pub for a snack or light meal.
You can get to The Rocks by taking public transport to the Circular Quay Ferry Terminal or CityRail station. Buses 431, 433, 432, 434, 339 & 343 run from Central Station.

Circular Quay, the colourful U-shaped quay located between Sydney's Opera House and The Rocks, is the hub of Sydney's water traffic and ferry services. You don't even need get your feet wet to feel part of the surf culture in Bondi. Simply sunning yourself on the sand, or relaxing in a restaurant is enough for the laid-back atmosphere to work like a charm. But carving up the waves at Bondi, or watching it happen, is only a taste of the eastern beaches experience.
If you're after a real wake-up call, take a dip in the famous Bondi Icebergs surf pool. Basically a walled-off area of the ocean, it is likely to be the most Spartan swim you ever have, especially in winter when the water is freezing. Bondi is for all sorts, but the main motivation for everyone here is pleasure. Any weekend the cool set will be brunching at beachfront cafes while exercise enthusiasts power walk and run along the spectacular cliff path to the equally beautiful beaches of Bronte and Clovelly. If you're on Bondi Beach in November don't be surprised to see it covered in more than sandcastles.
All those weird creations are part of Sculpture by the Sea, one of Bondi's many annual festivals. One of the biggest is the City to Surf Fun Run in August, which is partly why the promenade is always filled with runners, walkers, skateboarders and bike riders. Why not strip down to your swimwear and get on in? After all, living life to the max is what Bondi is all about.

Re-live the passion, excitement, pride and glory of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games at Sydney Olympic Park. Visitors can join a front of house and behind the scenes tour of Stadium Australia or the Sydney Aquatic Centre, where you can swim in the wake of the Olympic Champions, or witness one of the many exciting events held regularly at Sydney Olympic Park. Join the Sydney Olympic Explorer bus and hop on and off at different venues located within the site.
Visit the Sydney Olympic Park Information Centre, which is open daily and features up-to-date information about the development of facilities for the Sydney 2000 Games, and beyond. Shortly after the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788 Governor Arthur Phillip established Parramatta as a market town to supply fresh produce to the settlement at Sydney Cove. In the early days of the colony, Parramatta outshone Sydney as a cultural and social centre. As a result Parramatta has some excellent examples of early colonial architecture including Old Government House, Elizabeth Farm, St John's Cathedral, the Lancer Barracks and the Linden House Museum. Today Parramatta is the financial and business powerhouse of western Sydney and is located 24 kms from Central Sydney and just 6kms east of Homebush Bay, the site of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Most Sydney suburbs on the coast are happy to with one beach - but Manly has two.
